Noemi Cruz

Ms. Cruz has twenty-four years’ experience as a business litigation attorney. Ms. Cruz specializes in complex business litigation, including in the fields of oil and gas, products liability, real property and in public sector representation.
Ms. Cruz is an accomplished litigator with extensive discovery, law and motion and
deposition experience. She has been instrumental in the successful litigation of business and public sector cases, including, among others: (1) preventing foreclosure of an oil and gas platform in a dispute over a complex financing agreement, (2) developing key information in a pipeline easement and mineral rights lease dispute between an oil and gas company and its lessor; (3) representing the LACMTA against the manufacturer of 694 defective buses, resulting in a multi-million dollar settlement in favor of LACMTA; (4) in Los Angeles County’s construction defect case involving its Emergency Operations Center, developing key evidence of a false claim, which prompted the contractor to dismiss its $11 million claim, (5) establishing that a bankruptcy claim was a city redevelopment agency’s only source of recovery, prompting insurer to pay a six-figure settlement; (6) obtaining a federal court’s dismissal of a breach of contract claim against a foreign embassy and its consul general on the basis of sovereign immunity. Ms. Cruz has also assisted in the litigation of administrative claims and administrative and state court of appeals.
Ms. Cruz is a member of the California State Bar and the Los Angeles County Bar.
She is a member of the Los Angeles Association of Professional Landmen. Ms. Cruz
currently serves on the Board of Directors of Friends of the Griffith Observatory. Ms.
Cruz also served three years as a Los Angeles County Bar Association delegate to the State Bar Convention. She served three years on the Board of Directors of the Mexican American Bar Association. Ms. Cruz also served one year on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Los Angeles, as its Public Policy Director, and two years as its legislative liaison.
Ms. Cruz has a Bachelor of Arts Degree (English & Spanish) from the University of
Texas at Pan American and received her Juris Doctor from the University of California,
Berkeley.
